I have taken the plunge...

...and ordered my yarn! I decided it *had* to be Cathay for me and I picked 06 khaki/green for the main body, 01 black for the collar, front and epaullete trims and lower sleeves, 16 grey/silver for the plackets and 05 gold for the sleeve trims and cord fastners. I ordered from Ems. I don't mind if it takes a while, as I'm not ready to start for a bit and her prices were so good.

Now I just hope the colours all work like I think they will!

That's a lovely colour combination! It will definitely look somewhat Sharpe-like in those shades :-)

The prices at Ems are definitely very good, hope it arrives soon! (says she, just starting on the sewing up and knitting border etc. on the BdF jacket!)

Woohoo! Sounds delicious to me, and I bet you'll be glad you went with the Cathay.

OMG, we're not, ahem, nearly starting are we???

Anna mailed to say we should have a 'Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club' collage of all the jackets that are made :D

Well, considering the amount we're stressing about knitting at the moment, I think we should wait and see if that one more comes along before we even contemplate starting :)

Lol! I am going to try and menace a fellow knitter this afternoon when we meet up for coffee!

Got an email from Ems to say my yarn was dispatched but IIRC, yours came quite while after you got the same note Louise? We'll see anyway.

I think Ems have had some temporary problems because they have physically moved the shop, I got an email yesterday to say they were back up and running and sending out orders.

I'd like to order some Sirdar cotton from them given the prices so fingers crossed they have got rid of any gremlins :-)

I started my Sirdar shawl but frogged because it was lace and I messed it up! BUT, I am now making the 'long top' from the Cali. Girls booklet and the yarn is so buttery and smooth. It does split a bit but the feel of it is worth it.
